I have just started menopause or at least the part with no more periods. And for the last 8 years I have had anxiety and panic attacks. Well now that my periods are gone ( no periods in 4 months) I feel like I am going crazy. My anxiety is so bad I can’t stand myself. I forget everything and the hot flashes are 6 to 8 times and day. I tried permpro and the naxiety got even worse. Can anyone help. Anyone have any advice?

Yes they can be bad, it depends upon the person, every one has different symptoms to menopause. Talk to your doctor, She/He will tell you what to take or they might suggest that you take hormone therapy or talk to a holistic doctor, no need to go throough this without help. Try to stay away from the caffeine it triggers the hot flashes.

Have you seen you OB lately? There are other drugs that will help besides permpro (side effects are really bad).
Also some things are mental as well. Exercising regularly helps alot. Good Luck and remember it does last forever!

I empathize with you. I had my first anxiety and panic attacks five years before I stopped periods. I have been in full menopause for over four years now.

I had terrible anxiety two years ago. I saw my doctor and asked if I should take hormones. He told me if my hot flashes were not too bad, to skip that; I have never taken replacement hormones. And I found I had high cholesterol when the anxiety was bad.

I found talking to another woman who has gone through menopause to be soothing. I hope you can call a woman older than you who will talk with you.

Some women use herbal remedies, but I did not.
I started taking fish oil capsules, and drinking red wine daily. I felt better when I ate better: more fresh salads and less fat. Time seems to be the best healer. I now eat most anything I want to, and the anxiety has stayed away.
